Seekh Kabab Masala with Pav bun

Okay, Seekh Kabab Masala with Pav Bun is something I found goes amazing together, earlier I used to have that curry with normal chappathi, but during Ramadan I tried it with pav once, since then it has never gone back.

It has a nice street style feel to it, which I love. I’m a huge fan of street food that fine dining. I’m not sure if this combination exists somewhere, but you can always make and have a taste of street food at home.

I’ve used frozen kabab for my recipe, if you get good fresh kababs, use them instead.

Let’s begin.

Serves : 2

Ingredients:

  • Kababs - 5

  • Onion chopped - 2 medium

  • Tomato chopped - 1 medium

  • Ginger - 1 tsp

  • Garlic - 1 tsp

  • Chillies, finely chopped - 3/4

  • Red chilli powder - 1.5 tsp

  • Turmeric powder - 1/4th tsp

  • Coriander powder - 1.5 tsp

  • Garam masala - 1/2 tsp

  • Biryani masala (optional) - 1/2 tsp

  • Dry mango powder - 1/2 tsp

  • Salt to taste

  • Clove - 3/4

  • Cinnamon - 1/2 stick

  • Bay leaf - 1

  • Peppercorn - 4/5

  • Oil

  • Coriander- garnish

  • Pav bun

  • Butter to fry the buns

Method:

  1. Take 2 tbsp oil and fry the kababs till they are done and firm. Keep them aside

  2. In same pan, add 2 tbsp oil and put in the whole spices, once the aroma comes, add in the the chopped chillies and sauté for 1 min.

  3. Add onions and sauté them well, salt them a bit so that it releases the water. Add in the ginger-garlic.

  4. Once slightly brown, add in the tomatoes and cook until the tomatoes melt.

  5. Add all the masala with salt but only one tsp of red chilli powder.

  6. Cook them well, add in half cup of water and and cook covered for 5 mins.

  7. Toss in the cooked kababs. You can add more water as per you gravy preference

  8. Cover and let them cook in low flame for around 7-8 minutes, let the kabab soak the flavour of all the masalas.

  9. On the side heat 1 tbsp oil and add in the remaining half tsp of red chilli powder, mix it well and add in the gravy.

  10. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.

  11. Fry the pav buns in butter and serve hot.

There you have a street style Seekh Kabab masala and pav bun.

Do give it a try, it’s a pleasant detour from our ordinary meals.

Thank you. 🖤
